A Night of Culture and Compassion: Catrinas Runway Show Benefits Fundación UMC de México

Fundación UMC de México, IASP proudly thanks all who attended and supported Catrinas—a breathtaking runway experience that seamlessly blended tradition, elegance, and philanthropy in celebration of Mexican heritage.

Presented by Border Hertiage Magazine at the iconic La Nube Museum, the event was a visual tribute to the spirit of La Catrina, the timeless symbol of Mexican identity and Dia de los Muertos. Presented by Border Heritage Magazine, Catrinas was more than a fashion show—it was a cultural immersion into the heart of Mexico’s artistic and spiritual traditions.

Renowned designer Armando Rodríguez brought the runway to life with a stunning collection of Catrina-inspired attire, each piece a testament to his artistry and reverence for tradition. The intricate makeup, led by celebrated artists Sergio Muñoz of Marrakesh and Fanny Ruiz, transformed the models into living canvases of cultural expression.

Live performances elevated the night to a multisensory experience: Flor de Metal’s dynamic music echoed through the venue, while the Maru Becerra Classical Ballet Company delivered an emotional interpretation of Mexico’s cultural roots through movement and storytelling.

The evening culminated in an elegant gala dinner, where guests were welcomed into a space beautifully adorned with marigolds, candles, and pan de muerto. The exquisite menu, created by acclaimed chef Fernando Romero, featured gourmet Mexican dishes thoughtfully paired with an exclusive selection of beverages, leaving guests inspired and delighted.

Beyond its visual and culinary brilliance, Catrinas carried a greater purpose. All proceeds from the event benefited Fundación UMC de México, supporting life-changing orthopedic surgeries for children in need across Ciudad Juárez and surrounding communities. This powerful celebration reminded us that tradition and generosity go hand in hand—and that beauty can be a force for good.
